Three places, one passion: Simbadets, Klackskär & Dannemora
The campsite is owned by Östhammar Municipality and has been operated since spring 2025 by Ascensio AB, Viktoria and Erik Bergsman.
Klackskärs Camping is a quiet and scenic family campsite in northern Roslagen, surrounded by a beautiful archipelago environment and a town rich in history. It offers a perfect combination of relaxation and activities for the whole family. The campsite is located close to the marina and the town centre, and from here you can explore the old quarter with its cozy shops, cafés, restaurants, swimming and activities.
In addition to Östhammar, Ascensio has operations in Österbybruk and Dannemora, which are located half an hour's drive from Östhammar. Österbybruk is a mining community rich in both cultural heritage and natural experiences, where the mine in Dannemora has been the hub of 500 years of mining history.
Here we operate Simbadets Camping which is beautifully situated between Stordammen and Oppdammen with beautiful hiking trails, kayaking and a nature reserve right next door. Further along the shore of Stordammen is Aspbo Wilderness Camp in Aspbo Nature Reserve. Here you will find simple but beautiful pitches without electricity for tents, caravans and motorhomes. Or why not rent one of our Tipi tents with a stove that will be set up by the water when you arrive. There are washing facilities, simple waste disposal and a well-maintained dry toilet.
The Upplandsleden trail and the Stordammen run literally go right through the camp. A few kilometers from there we are staying with Dannemora Äventyr and offers guided via ferrata climbs in the 16th century mine. With a harness and helmet, we make our way down into the mine via a system of ropes and cables.
